BLACKPINK ‘GO’ Music Video Teaser: Did Aespa’s ‘Whiplash’ Inspire This Promo?

BLACKPINK, the biggest Korean girl group has released the teaser of "Go" one of the songs from their upcoming album mini-album #DEADLINE." The album has been in discussion for a few days on social media with their fans speculating that the songs got leaked. They had tagged YG Entertainment, their agency but there was no official statement on the same. "Go" music video's teaser suggests that it has a futuristic concept similar to what we may see in a dystopian sci-fi movie. Indian fans of BLACKPINK have been celebrating the desi touch in the music video teaser where it is written 'Chalo' (Go) in Hindi. Korean bands have a huge fan base in India and agencies are now trying to cater to them in one way or another. 

"Go" is produced by Teddy Park who is part of The Black Label. He has produced almost all the chartbusters of BLACKPINK. The video is directed by Rima Yoon. The director has worked with groups like aespa, XG, IVE in the past. Interestingly, it looks a lot like aespa's music video, "Whiplash." The girl group from SM Entertainment has explore the space concept on numerous occasions. 

The music video sees Jisoo (real name: Kim Jisoo), Jennie (real name: Jennie Kim), Lisa (Lisa Manobal), Rose (Roseanne Park) travel from land to the sea and finally to space. DEADLINE album has five tracks like the title song, "Go,", pre-release single "JUMP," "Champion," "Fxxxboy," and a B-side "Me and My". YG has said fans will be treated to many peak moments and the album will usher a new phase in the career of BLACKPINK.

Jisoo will be soon seen in "Boyfriend on Demand", a series that will come on Netflix. Lisa is shooting for TYGO, which is a Netflix action-thriller also starring Ma Dong-seok and Lee Jin-uk. The BLACKPINK singers are juggling multiple roles as solo artists along with their careers as part of the band.
