‘Bhabiji Ghar Par Hain!’ To Move To ZEE5 Following Reported Closure Of &TV, Aasif Sheikh Confirms (EXCLUSIVE)

"Bhabiji Ghar Par Hain!" has one of the most beloved sitcoms of Indian TV. Fans all over India have loved the characters of Manmohan Tiwari (Rohitashv Gour), Vibhuti Narayan Mishra (Aasif Sheikh), Angoori (Shilpa Shinde/ Shubhangi Atre), Anita (Saumya Tandon/Nehha Pendse/Vidisha Srivastava) and their comic capers. Today, news is out that the channel &TV is shutting shop. As per reports, it was written that the beloved show, "Bhabiji Ghar Par Hain!" would go off-air. This disheartened fans who had been tuning in religiously since years for its comic quotient. The re-runs of some of the episodes are also huge hits. The report also said that BGPH won't be moved to the OTT platform of Z5.

Variety India got in touch with actor Aasif Sheikh who told us, "Yes, Bhabiji is being moved to the OTT platform of Z5. This is what all of us (the cast and crew) knows. I am unaware of the media reports going around currently but we were informed of the shift to the digital platform a month back." 

Earlier, in a conversation with us, he had said, "I am cool with the show being shifted to a streaming platform. This is the future of viewing. What is important is that people are watching the show. Nowadays, people work long hours and also commute a lot for travel. Mobile screens make their favorite shows more accessible to them as per their convenience." 

Aasif Sheikh has been a part of the show since its inception. His performance has got immense love and he won multiple awards for the same. Aasif Sheikh told us earlier that he let go of a lot of work for the show as he feels it is his topmost priority. "Bhabiji Ghar Par Hain!" is produced by Sanjay and Binaifer Kohli.
