Ankit Siwach headlines Ritesh Shah’s show for JioHotstar (EXCLUSIVE)
After 120 Bahadur, Ankit Siwach is ready with his new project, Dhaai Chaal. The actor who has done a number of TV shows is all set to headline Ritesh Shah’s web series for JioHotstar. The series, Dhaai Chaal, will be directed by Satish Nair and Nav Nirman Singh. He told Variety India, “After The Legacy of the Raisingghs: Kull, this is my second web series. It’s a gritty political drama where I get to play a grey-shaded character. I auditioned for this some time back, and they tested me for three different types of characters, the primary characters of the show. I guess they liked me the most in the grey-shaded role.”
Ankit Siwach will be seen in the role of a politician. He adds, “We bonded over the kind of stories and films we like, and we got along really well. That’s how the show happened.” The character has grey undertones and Ankit feels this is a wonderful opportunity. He further says, “He is strong, he is ambition-driven, and he is one of the most influential people in the world of the show. So it’s a wonderful character. It’s very well written and has many layers to it. Sometimes it’s dark, sometimes it’s very transparent. So it lies in the grey zone throughout. I’m really looking forward to the final output coming out for the world to see.” Dhaai Chaal will come on JioHotstar in the first week of April.

Ankit Siwach who made his TV debut with Rishton Ka Chakravyuh in 2017 has been part of well-known TV shows like Ishqbaaz, Beyhadh 2, Manmohini, Ishq Main Marjawan 2. The actor reveals how it was a wonderful experience to spend time with Ritesh Shah during the making of Dhaai Chaal. “He has written some great stories and great films, and it’s always enriching to be around someone who is so well-read and has such a wonderful worldview. So, other than getting to work with him and being on set with him and learning about the character and the show, you also get to learn about his worldview. I think that’s very important as a person and as an actor,” he shared.
As we know, Shah is a prolific Bollywood screenwriter who has also forayed into direction with Ghooskhor Pandat. The Netflix series is produced by Neeraj Pandey.
