By Sakshi Navare,
Yash Raj Films’ next, helmed by Ali Abbas Zafar and starring Ahaan Panday alongside Sharvari, has officially begun production. Zafar shared the update on social media, posting a picture of the clapperboard along with another image that offers a glimpse of Panday while carefully concealing his full look.
Ali Abbas Zafar took to X (formerly Twitter) and wrote, “And it begins.” The post features a picture of the clapperboard identifying the untitled project as Production No. 79. Another image shows the same board positioned in a way that hides Ahaan Panday’s face, revealing only his eyes. The intense gaze offers an early tease of the romantic actioner as filming gets underway.

Meanwhile, in a note announcing the film recently through his representatives, Zafar spoke about Ahaan Panday and what drew him to the young actor.
“What I love about Ahaan is his sincerity. In today’s time, when everything can feel performative, he brings a kind of old-school honesty to his performances, like the romantic heroes we have grown up watching and loving,” Zafar said.

He added, “The camera picks up on that. You can’t act vulnerable on screen — it doesn’t land. He isn’t afraid to be vulnerable, which is incredible.”
Ali continued, “Audiences have connected with Ahaan because he’s not trying to impress them. He’s simply present in the moment. There’s a softness to him, but also strength. That balance is what makes people root for him, especially in love stories. I genuinely believe he has the potential to become one of those rare romantic heroes who make you feel something long after the film ends.”
According to reports, the team is expected to begin shooting in Mumbai before heading to the UK for a 60-day schedule. The film is said to blend romance with action, with Zafar reportedly keen to present Ahaan’s romantic hero persona alongside the intensity of high-stakes action. He also believes the actor’s vulnerability makes him particularly well-suited to this space.
