Aamir Khan’s ‘Sitaare Zameen Par’ Heads To SonyLIV Nearly A Year After Its Theatrical Release

"Sitaare Zameen Par", starring Aamir Khan in the lead role, is now heading to streaming on SonyLIV after a long wait and an experimental release strategy across formats. The film first released in June 2025 and was instantly embraced by audiences. It will now soon make its streaming debut on SonyLIV.

After winning audiences over in theatres and later impressing viewers during its YouTube run, "Sitaare Zameen Par" is now gearing up for its next innings this time on OTT. Nearly a year after its theatrical release in June 2025, the feel-good sports comedy-drama is set to stream on SonyLIV.

The release also marks a special milestone for SonyLIV, as "Sitaare Zameen Par" becomes the platform’s first Hindi theatrical film to premiere on the service, adding a widely loved crowd-pleaser to its growing library of content.

The film follows Gulshan Arora, a basketball coach whose life takes an unexpected turn after a drunk-driving incident lands him in community service. As part of his sentence, he is assigned to train a team of neurodivergent players for a basketball tournament. What begins as a reluctant responsibility soon transforms into a deeply personal journey, as Gulshan discovers the team’s resilience, spirit and extraordinary outlook on life — ultimately realizing that they become his greatest teachers.

Directed by R. S. Prasanna, the film stars Aamir Khan alongside Genelia Deshmukh, Ashish Pendse, Aroush Datta, Aayush Bhansali, Rishi Shahani, Gopikrishnan K Varma, Rishabh Jain, Vedant Sharma, Simran Mangeshkar, Samvit Desai and Naman Misra.

The film is produced by Aamir Khan and Aparna Purohit under the banner of Aamir Khan Productions, with B. Shrinivas Rao and Ravi Bhagchandka serving as producers and is written by Divy Nidhi Sharma.
