‘Toxic,’ ‘Ramayana,’ ‘Raaka,’ ‘Varanasi’ or ‘Spirit’: Which Will Be the Next ₹1000-Crore Grosser After ‘Dhurandhar 2’?

Ranveer Singh’s “ Dhurandhar 2” emerged as the first Bollywood and third Indian film after “Baahubali 2” and “Pushpa 2” to enter the ₹1000-crore club in the domestic market.

While there are only three films that have achieved this glorious milestone in the industry,  seven biggies to come have the potential to break into this league and maybe go beyond it. These are:

Toxic

After delivering a universal blockbuster with “KGF 2” in 2022, Yash is coming back on the big screen with “Toxic” after a hiatus of four years. Touted to be one of the most ambitious projects of the lead star, who has also co-written the period gangster thriller. Shot in English and Kannada, the film will also release in the dubbed languages of Hindi, Telugu, Tamil and Malayalam. Directed by Geetu Mohandas, the film also features Kiara Advani, Huma Qureshi, Nayanthara, Rukmini Vasanth and Tara Sutaria in key roles.

Ramayana

The magnum opus, which is expected to take India to the global map, is the most expensive Indian film in cinema history. Starring Ranbir Kapoor, Yash, Sai Pallavi, Sunny Deol and Ravie Dubey, among others. It is directed by Nitesh Tiwari of "Dangal" and "Chhichhore" fame.

Spirit

The blockbuster director Sandeep Reddy Vanga, known for “Animal,” “Kabir Singh” and “Arjun Reddy,” has teamed up with pan-India star Prabhas for an action-thriller titled “Spirit.” The first look garnered a thunderous response from the fans. Also starring Triptii Dimri and Vivek Oberoi in prominent roles, the film will be released in Telugu, Hindi, Tamil, Kannada, Malayalam, Mandarin, Japanese and Korean languages.

Raaka

After "Theri," "Mersal," "Bigil" and “Jawan,” director Atlee has collaborated with “Pushpa” star Allu Arjun for a mega-budget sci-fi adventure, which is reportedly made on a whopping budget of ₹700 crore. The film features Deepika Padukone, Rashmika Mandanna, Janhvi Kapoor and Mrunal Thakur in prominent roles.

Varanasi

The maverick filmmaker SS Rajamouli has joined hands with Mahesh Babu for his ambitious project “Varanasi.” The movie, which also features Prithviraj Sukumaran and Priyanka Chopra in key roles, is made on a budget of ₹1300 crore.

Salaar 2

After “Salaar,” Prabhas and director Prashanth Neel are reuniting for its sequel, which is expected to be bigger and grander. The film will soon go on floors and will see Prithviraj Sukumaran and Shruti Haasan reprising their roles.

Kalki 2

The sequel to the sci-fi actioner brings back Prabhas, Amitabh Bachchan and Kamal Haasan together. However, unlike the first part, Deepika Padukone won’t be part of “Kalki 2.” Directed by Nag Ashwin, the film recently went into production.
