‘The Pitt’ Actor Supriya Ganesh Slams ‘Colorist, Classist, Garbage’ Racist Post, Tells User to Address ‘Self-Hate’

“The Pitt” actor Supriya Ganesh came down heavily on the X user who targeted Tamil actors in Hollywood. She lashed out at the ‘colorist, classist’ take on the social media platform. Maitreyi Ramakrishnan also called out the post.
In the post, the X user combined the pictures of Maitreyi Ramakrishnan (“Never Have I Ever”), Charithra Chandran (“Bridgerton” and “One Piece”), Geraldine Viswanathan (“Blockers” and “Thunderbolts”) and “Supriya Ganesh” (The Pitt) and wrote the caption, “most common faces used by Hollywood to represent Indians. kamwali bai (househelp) phenotype.”
Reposting it on X, Supriya wrote, “Hey so this is supremely f***ed up and I truly hope you deal with your self hate. Colorist, classist, garbage take.” She added, “And casteist but are we ready to talk about that.(sic)” In another follow-up tweet, she added, “And I’m always going to talk back about this s*** because I’m never going to let women and folks who look like me feel bad about themselves, never going to shut up.”

Maitreyi, who is best known for playing Devi Vishwakumar in Netflix’s “Never Have I Ever,” reacted to it and wrote, “womp womp cry harder. must be hard to look at four baddies constantly.”

On the professional side, it was recently shared that Supriya will not be returning for the third season of “The Pitt.” The actress plays the role of senior resident Dr Samira Mohan on the show. The finale of season 2 is set to air this Friday on JioHotstar.
