Fans have long been curious about Thor’s trajectory beyond the next Avengers installments, and Hemsworth has hinted that both he and the God of Thunder are far from finished in the MCU. The actor confirmed that his journey will not end with "Avengers: Doomsday", suggesting there are likely more films and an exciting road ahead for the character.
Buzz around the next two Avengers films, "Avengers: Doomsday" and "Avengers: Secret Wars," continues to intensify even though both are still many months away from release. And whatever we do next, we’ve got some ideas to do something pretty unique again and hopefully be different,” Hemsworth said.
Reflecting on portraying Thor under multiple filmmakers, he added, “It’s been so much fun. And what I’ve really enjoyed is that, unlike many other characters whose actors had to maintain consistency, I’ve been able to explore different interpretations. The Russos also encouraged experimentation. It’s like my tattoos — I’d get bored doing the same thing and feel the need to push the performance in new directions.”
Hemsworth joined the MCU as Thor in 2011 and has been central to many of the franchise’s major storylines. He remains an inseparable part of the Universe’s foundation. His most recent solo outing was "Thor: Love and Thunder," directed by Waititi. Hemsworth also made headlines recently when he suggested the filmmaker may have taken the character’s humor and tone a bit too far in that installment.
